Advice: What Should I Ask For A Stripped T430s?

#1 Post by bmstrong » Fri Apr 10, 2015 12:14 pm

It's an i5. I've cannibalized the RAM and SSD into another Thinkpad. It has the extra ultrabay battery instead of the CD caddy. Both batteries are fading fast and I'd estimate less than 15% life on them. Otherwise she runs like a champ and the body/screen is in nice condition. I was running Fedora 22 on it but it's just sitting and waiting for a good home. I didn't want to pollute the Marketplace.

Pretty hard to say, as it would depend a lot on whether I was looking to buy, or was trying to sell. But, I see several complete units have sold on eBay recently for $235 shipped with 500GB HDD and 8GB RAM. So deduct what it would cost a buyer to add HDD, RAM, new battery and maybe even an optical drive from $235 and you should be in the ball park on your machine.

Example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-ThinkPad ... 3aa71b20aa

Another way to ask might be... "I'm thinking of asking $X.XX, does that look like a fair amount?"
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E

Hmmm. Yeah, I probably phrased the question wrong. I appreciate the legwork.

I also had a couple PM's asking for more information and pictures. It's an Intel Core i5-3320M CPU. And here are a metric boatload of pictures:

Does it have the Nvidia GPU? If so I am interested in taking it off your hands.
