IBM THINKPAD 360PE-2620 on eBay
Anyone else caught sight of this ad?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-THINKPAD-36 ... 1604157715
I wonder what he'll eventually get for it.
It's actually a pretty cool machine: check out he modular internals lower on the page: the keyboard lifted up so you could pop out components.

X22, X32, X40, X41, 6 x X61, X1 Carbon 5th - all run just fine. There's justification for that "6 x X61"
Daily driver: X61 - the X1 is a work machine foisted upon me by my employer
I'm not actually a ThinkPad junkie, it just worked out that way.

Holy moses.
Not sure what put it in his mind that such a price was even plausible. I know it's mint condition and everything, and a museum piece, but...

Notice the "Make Offer" button, that's not the price.

Re: IBM THINKPAD 360PE-2620 on eBay
I suppose one could make an offer of $50 or so and see what he comes back with. It'd be worth that much, at least.

Re: IBM THINKPAD 360PE-2620 on eBay
Why speculate when you can try it?
I did so, and it was immediately declined by a filter.
Now it is tempting to try to inch upwards to find the lowest offer that would clear the filter, but I've got an impeccable record on eBay and want to keep it that way.

Re: IBM THINKPAD 360PE-2620 on eBay
My guess is that whatever one would reasonably pay for such a machine - say $1500 - would not be anywhere near enough to clear the filter.twisting_edge wrote: Now it is tempting to try to inch upwards to find the lowest offer that would clear the filter, but I've got an impeccable record on eBay and want to keep it that way.
Two things to consider:
a) It has cost him a nice chunk of change to keep this listing alive for several years so
b) he's looking for one right buyer that will spend a serious amount of money and will hold onto the system until such a person shows up. Or...

I tried 2 years ago: 200, 400 and 555 and was automatically declined

Re: IBM THINKPAD 360PE-2620 on eBay
Does anyone know of a live auction for this item?
I got my hands on a working 360PE - well, the HDD was bust, once I replaced it, the machine worked.
However, the display is very, very badly washed out - text is legible, but there's no way to see the mouse cursor. Maybe with black&white LCD display settings...
I'd love to bid on a mint or working version of this item.

To revive this thread, I’ve just bought a machine of this type but sold not working. Apparently was working prior to storage.
Any advice for what to check?
I’ll obvious try reseating all components and check for the hdd as mentioned above.
Thanks in advance
Mike
