Rumor has it that a new X1 is coming. It's supposed to support 16GB of RAM but be almost identical to the current 3rd gen model. Anybody heard a release date for this? Last thing I read somewhere was October/November of this year but it was just enthusiasts and fanboys - no hard facts or links to official notices. IFA in Berlin maybe??

The only thing you'll get here is more speculation, which you've already got. The only one who knows for sure is Lenovo and they're being tight lipped for now.rambo47 wrote:Anybody heard a release date for this?

I was hoping someone here had more credible sources. Rampant speculation and guesswork is easy to find. A little Lenovo insider info would be quite a coup though.ZaZ wrote:The only thing you'll get here is more speculation, which you've already got. The X1 Carbon Broadwell is already available with 16GB RAMrambo47 wrote:Rumor has it that a new X1 is coming. It's supposed to support 16GB of RAM but be almost identical to the current 3rd gen model.
The UEFI has been updated some time ago to support the new 16GB model, the PSREF has been updated yesterday and you can already order the X1 Carbon with 16GB RAM from lenovo.com.
I think the X1 Carbon Skylake will be announced at CES 2016, but I don't think that it will be almost identical to the current model (see https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Change-The ... /true#M299).
