"LSE is present and enabled" -- how to get rid of it?

#1 Post by KlaymenDK » Fri Nov 13, 2015 10:28 am

Hi all,
my work laptop is a ThinkPad T420s (4174-2ag). I was only recently made aware of Superfish and of course tried to uninstall the thing.

Off I go to Lenovo's removal tool site (1, 2).

Alas! The app "Lenovo.SuperFishRemovalTool.exe" said that there's no superfish on my system, but the other one says this:
LSE is present and enabled, but writing the variable has failed. LSE has NOT been disabled.
How bad is this?
What should I do now?

Any advice is welcome.

Hallo,
ThinkPad T420s models are not supported by the Lenovo LSE disabler tool. Users who install and run the Lenovo LSE disabler tool on unsupported hardware should not expect the program to render meaningful output. In such cases, erroneous and confusing output should be expected. I doubt that any further action is necessary.
