Hi all, I want to flash a specific bios splash image but I am terrible with photo editors. I obtained the following after a 2 hours attempt, the idea is right but the quality is terrible. Could some photo editing wizard make a X220 bios splash compliant image like shown in my terrible example?
Example:
Source Tux: https://gitlab.com/jstpcs/lnxpcs/blob/m ... x-text.png
Source Thinkpad logo: https://goo.gl/images/1ytUe5
1. THE IMAGE FILE SIZE IS LIMITED TO 30KB
2. RESOLUTION OF THE IMAGE SHOULD BE LESS THAN 640X480
3. VALID FORMATS FOR THE IMAGE ARE AS FOLLOWS:
* BITMAP (.BMP) FILE FORMAT
* JPEG (.JPG) FILE FORMAT
* GIF (.GIF) FILE FORMAT
No idea if Tux should be bigger or smaller to look nice at booting. Thanks a lot at all photoshop/GIMP wizards

Re: Request Thinkpad X220 bios splash image
I gave it a try. Finding generic "code" that is dense like that is quite difficult. As a gif it is ~21K
Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.
The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

If you're using linux, there is jp2a which can turn jpeg into ascii code, including colors and all.
Get jpeg of tux, use j2a to generate ASCII, then do screncap to generate image for BIOS splash.

hmm interesting, will have a look this week
@Thinkpad4by3: I liked the smooth colors of the tux image. no way to try using the original tux image?
