Data Continuity/disaster plans?

#1 Post by fissionpowered » Sun Jul 04, 2021 3:26 pm

I'm the new guy on the block, a longtime Thinkpad user but new to the forums. My primary retro computing interest has always been SGI machines, but I've recently picked up a few older ThinkPads.

As some folks may know, there was a fantastic SGI computer resource (nekochan--really the only SGI hobbyist resource)-- that dissapeared overnight a few years ago due to personal reasons of the owner.

I'm just starting to explore the fantastic insight from this forum and have begun to wonder if there were any 'disaster' recovery plans? It would be almost certainly impossible to replicate the knowledge stored here if something were to happen to the main site.

Hi, have you tried http://web.archive.org ? They are not bad at preserving internet history. I've donated a bit to them in my life but probably way too little.. They're good fellas/gals.
