Onsite/ADP Coverage for Cats

#1 Post by mpcook » Sat Aug 28, 2021 3:48 pm

If I could ever figure out how, I would post picture but my cat, who is obsessed with plastic, chewed the corner of the screen of my Yoga X1 3GEN a few days ago. It was sitting open on the coffee table and he must have thought it was a snack. A tooth cracked the screen in the corner, and also disabled the touch functionality. MacDara, named after a fellow we met on our honeymoon in Ireland, is a fiesty feline. Hoping the technician will arrive in a few days to repair/replace. Luckily this was my work laptop and has lots of warranty, including accidental damage protection (ADP). I know it was just an accident that his tooth cracked the screen, he was just trying to taste the plastic case.

@unixed:
Good one! :lol:

@mpcook:
Pictures of laptops with animals are one of the reasons why I hate Reddit!
But if you insist:
- upload your picture to https://imgur.com/
- when you click on the picture, a bunch of copy-links is shown to the right of it
- underneath those, you can select Sizes, important to stay within Forum Rules (preferably max. 800x600)
- DO NOT SELECT the first Image Link! (if Javascript in a browser is Off, it will show an empty screen)
- instead select the BBCode (message boards & forums) link by clicking on Copy next to it
- paste that in your Forum post

Well, the "IBM" repair guy came by and swapped a new screen into my Yoga X1. It only took him two tries -- first time, the screen was bowed and not properly seated. Looks and works like new now.

Proof that ADP covers cats. :banana:

No, and in any case, getting angry at a cat never works! He will figure out a way to disable Windows. :lol:
