Hi everyone.
Im looking to purchase a T4x laptop sometime this summer. However searching on ebay has given rise to a few questions.
1) Why is it that the IBM T40 is much cheaper than the IBM T40p? I have seen that most auctions for the T40 end around $500-$650. THe T40p have buy-it-now prices of $1100+. Why is that? i thought the 'p' models just have the higher end workstation graphics and the sxga lcd. am i missing something?
2) if anyone knows of a reputable seller of thinkpads on ebay, please dont hesitate to post their user name here.

The Performance Series do have a higher end graphics card and sxga lcd. Since the motherboard also includes the graphic card that makes a difference. Plus also the hype of it is also a concern.
I do not know of any recommended users on eBay at the moment but those who will deal directly through eBay are given some credibility. If you need to contact and deal with a user outside of the eBay network...That is murky waters.
Scammers will also have previously sold tea cups and small plates prior to selling laptops for some odd reason...

I've dealt with premier pc auctions on one occasion. Positive experience, bought an X31 and it was shipped quickly to Norway. Seller has loads of good feedback.
Premier pc auctions is an alias for Ebuysuperstore.com, but their prices on ebay are a lot lower than the prices in their web shop.
Thinkpadworld (store on ebay) seem to price most laptops lower than the seller mentioned above, though. They did not have a X31 with my preferred config at the time I was doing some shopping.

thanks guys
just curious though since the LCD + Video card would be the only difference.
I basically would like the SXGA LCD with an ATi video card...preferably the 9000..
im checking everyday for a steal.
