Warranty Upgrades?

I tried checking IBM's website, but their warranty upgrades page doesn't load.

I have about 3 months left in my IBM warranty, although I bought the machine refurbished. Can I extend my warranty with an IBM warranty? Does anyone know the cost for this, or if the warranty stands up to the original warranty, just an extension?

usually you can NOT upgrade a warranty on a refurbished thinkpad..

Do they know it's been refurbished if another organization refurbished it?

Can you give me a link to the info or just a quick summary of the warranty and how they "follow" the machine. Do I have to be a registered user of the machine etc...?

uBid offers a 2 year warranty from the refurbisher, but I haven't been able to get much more info on it. I'd much rather an IBM warranty, than a 3rd part one.

btw, I looked up my warranty on IBM and I still have until 06/2006
