Warranty upgrade from Europe for a TP bought in USA

#1 Post by pogik » Wed Jun 14, 2006 8:05 am

Hi,
i've bought my TP in USA, 9/2005. Later i went to Europe, and I'll be here for some time. I need to know, if I'm able to upgrade my 1yr warranty to 3yr?

I've contacted the local service partner, they told me, that I can't upgrade it, because type 2378-RRU isn't being sold here.

I can't neither find a page, where I can order it at USA Lenovo site, i'm clicking there in circles - if someone knew a direct link to a page similar to this canadian version, please, PLEASE, let me know. I'm desperate.

So, finally my question: when a warranty upgrade is ordered, do I need to be physically in USA due to a postal delivery of some papers or whatever, or is it all done only by email?

It's really important for me, my warranty is going to be void in 3 months so I need to upgrade it ASAP.

Thanks in advance

The upgrade webpage is here.

Yes, you need a US mail address so they can send you the warranty documents.

But, you're supposed to be able to upgrade the warranty regardless of where you reside provided it is covered by an IWS warranty.

well, that's the page I started with. And as I wrote before, I can't do that upgrade directly from Europe, because they don't sell my TP type here.

in those warranty documents is everything I need, or it is just some sort of confirmation? Will I get needed informations also via email?

Why they can't send it to Europe? I'd pay it, if necessary.
