Looks like Lenovo support is still on top:

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Note that these ratings only apply to web and phone support, and NOT actual repair support.

I agree with Laptop Magazine that Lenovo and IBM have kept top-notch web and phone support. IBM and Lenovo people have always provided great service.

However, I think the story might be different if Laptop Magazine sent in a ThinkPad for repair.

I have to agree with them for the most part. Apple and IBM/Lenovo are fantastic (though I'd give Lenovo a failing grade for repairs).

Gateway though, I'd give a much lower grade, likely D for web and phone support... my experience with them was sub-standard at best.

They didn't actually send anything in to be repaired and, even though we are hearing more and more horror stories from EZServe and Solectron, there are also some pretty compelling sucess stories. I have yet to see my lab have one problem with IBM/Lenovo on-site or off-site repair. If we can't do it ourselves, they get called in and they get the job done. I will wait for a comprehensive review of their service facilities before passing judgement. :)
