Certified Used Warranty extension?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew the current details of the warranty on certified used Thinkpads. On the warranty page it says that some units will have a warranty of 1 year? On the Used Certified page the warranties for Thinkpads are only 3 months or 6 months. Does anyone know if this can be extended currently?

I searched for information on certified used units and found that some ppl were able to upgrade their warranties (albeit steeply) for about 190/year or so. Is this policy still in place?

Btw, does anyone know if Lenovo will have a Labor day sale? I'm looking for a notebook for grad school and would be content to wait a couple weeks if it means I can save some money. Any ideas? Or does anyone know if the 200 dollar rebates from June will reappear in the near future?

Thank you for the information. I did not know about ServicePac before this.

I am considering purchasing a x60s/x60 from Lenovo's Certified Used page. I am fuzzy on how I would get the ServicePac to apply to Thinkpad. I found some ServicePacs at CostCentral which seem fairly affordable-- could I purchase one from there and apply it to the Thinkpad after the warranty expires?
