So I think Lenovo hooked me up... or is this normal?

I just ordered a z60m via the outlet on 8/30. Offer said free 'standard' shipping. Well, after changing my order to add a basic Office pkg, the shipping date was pushed out to 9/18 from my original 9/8 date. No big deal as I was not in a super hurry and I know Lenovo is notorious for playing with ship dates.

Well, I got an email saying that the unit was shipped on 9/6 via UPS Worldwide Express 2nd day shipping and I should be recieving it tomorrow. It's already departed from Alaska as I type this. Now, when I plug in the numbers, if I was to ship the same box/weight from Hong Kong to New York this would have cost me approx. $125.00. Now I'm sure they get a discount from UPS, but this still seems like a good deal. Even if this is SOP, I feel like they're taking care of me.

Anyways, I just noticed tonight that the z60m's are now sold out via the outlet. How long before we see some of the newer z61's there? What's the typical sales cycle?

I ordered my X60s on 7/29, standard (free) ground shipping. The estimated ship date was 8/21 and never moved. It shipped on 8/21 exact, and also came 2 day mail. Not sure why they give this shipping bump, but kudos to them for doing so.

i've selected std. shipping and gotten worldwide express (overnight) all three times.

it's pretty standard, according to the sales reps i've talked to.

just going off of fedex invoicies at my workplace, it often says something about a 75% discount off of regular prices. i imagine it changes depending on volume.

It seems to always be the case.

It's likely cheaper to ship them all the same way, and get it discounted, rather than ship 10 different ways.
