Regarding the Flexview screens

#1 Post by CarrerCrytharis » Thu Oct 12, 2006 10:56 pm

I have read in a few places that the Flexview screens have a slower response time than regular screens, so that when doing things like watching DVDs or playing games, there is a visible screen slowdown.

I read this mainly in connection with the T42. What I want to know is, is there any truth to this? I ask specifically about the T60 series. Since I do plan to use the machine I buy for watching videos and playing a few games, I'd rather not get a Flexview screen if this is the case.

There was reportedly some ghosting for fast images on the T42 equipped with flexview. But the response time has been improved and it's not longer an issue on the T60.
Check reviews at laptoplogic to confirm.

Flexview (IPS stechnology) screens, are always slower than any non-IPS screen, period. No matter what people are saying.

Unfortunately that is how IPS LCD matrix works.

That is one of few LCD Screen's technologies that make picture more realistic, compared to any other "normal" screen

I've used 15" Flexview (IPS) screens for years and have never noticed ghosting.

We're not referring to Image Ghosting, but Movement Ghosting.

Just stick it next to a CRT refreshing at 100Hz and you'll see what everyone's talking about.
760ED All the way.

FEEL THE BURN! From the bottom of that particular laptop... right in the bawsack! eek

That's right. Even worse: I saw a terrible Ghosting in a R60, without IPS. IT is in "The matrix" movie, around 40'30" or so. Neo returns from the Matrix and then he felt.. throwing the last spaghettis at the floor!

After this particular scene, there comes a black screen about 1-1.5 s in order to prepare a scene change. WITH the R60, I saw in this black screen Neo "Ghosting" there... With the T60 IPS, I saw nothing.

Sorry, but I don't believe this legends. I concerned a lot about and I ask you... Have you ever read response times of the screens?!? Its even difficult to know which exact screen you have. The producers are not giving so easily the times.

I played and watched movies in a T60. Donot bother about this fact..
