How do you think about Lenovo's repair service?

#1 Post by mlli4 » Sun Oct 22, 2006 8:30 pm

My friend and I both own Thinpad T42 notebook. T42 is solid machine, but once it broke down, there is endless trouble with Lenovo's service. My friend's T42 2378R1U got forzen every few hours, even if he restored his machine to factory setting by the "Access IBM" button.
So he called the Lenovo service center and sent the machine to them. Lenovo quickly sent the machine back saying there was no problem. But the machine still froze frequently. Then my friend sent the machine to Lenovo again. Lenovo replace the hard driver with a brand new one. However, the techinian didn't install the driver properly. When my friend got the machine back, the machine cannot find hard driver. So I check the machine for my friend. Surprisingly, the technician in Lenovo forgot the secure screw. I pulled out the driver, then I realized the driver wasn't plugged into the motherboard. There was a piece of rubber in the driver chamber. The Lenovo's technician just managed to insert the driver into the machine, they didn't even test it. I pulled out the rubber, and inserted the driver, now the machine could find hard driver. But it still didn't solve my friend's problem.
Lenovo's service is really horrible, I just wish my T42 won't break down.
