If they still had T60p with UXGA, I would be tempted to buy one. The $1284 Z61p is a very good deal though.
Microsoft Surface 3 (Atom x7-Z8700 / 4GB / 128GB / LTE)
Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF (Core i3-3220 / 8GB / 8TB); HP 8300 Elite minitower (Core i7-3770 / 16GB / 9.25TB)
Acer T272HUL; Crossover 404K; Dell 3008WFP, U2715H, U2711, P2416D; Monoprice 10734; QNIX QHD2410R; Seiki Pro SM40UNP

Are the prices dropping only in the US so far? Canadian site still starts the T60 at C$1399 (US$1234) and the X60 starts from C$1999 (US$1763). Those prices are the same as a month ago, and a big gap to the US pricing now ... :? :? :?

Thats a raging bargain on the X60s.

These are actually not price drops, just sale prices, perhaps to celebrate Thanksgiving. In Canada, Thanksgiving was celebrated last month, so you guys don't have a sale.

Ah-ha! And in Canada, Thanksgiving is not as big a deal, either -- especially not for shopping. So we'll need to keep our eyes peeled for a sale north of the border as well.

If I ordered a thinkpad 2 weeks ago and they havent shipped or charged me for it yet, is there any chance of getting a price adjustment to the new sale prices?

Absolutely! Just call them and ask for a price adjustment if they haven't already applied it.

Many times prices will be adjusted automatically if the price is lower for an item on the day of actual shipment.

I called up lenovo, and they gave me the price adjustment. Thanks a bunch! Only bad thing is that they said it would take 2 weeks for the price adjustment to process...

I'm trying to configure mine through Educational Purchase Program. It seems the price is even appealing. But the thing is Lenovo doesn't offer free shipping and charges $90 for 512M memory instead of free upgrading. Is it true?

Your best bet is visaperks.ca. It's 20-25% below standard Lenovo retail pricing but still about 10% higher than the US sale prices.
