The two points below alone, should should make clear that Lenovo is no real supporter of anything but Windows.

Lenovo and Windows

Bluntly punt, I think that:

- Non-orderability to the general public of systems with a non-windows operating system, or open bay.

- and, the addition of a Win key :)

T400s Workhorse. two of'em, both faulty display with vertical stripes.
T43 °very nice° - MB reflown and dead, two of'em.
T42 15°, dead onboard wireless.
T40, dead memory slot, stolen from me
T30, stolen from me

Errr, they still support Linux on Thinkpads. Last I checked, you could request a Thinkpad with Linux on it, SuSE. In that case, I am not even sure that one should ship a Linux preload with a system as, to be more efficient, it would be better if the user was to customize their own distro on their own system in the first place; unless it was for really new home users (small niche). In that case, you can still get CTOs that come with no preloaded OS to customize as you please; which sometimes turns out to be more cost efficient.

As for the Windows Key...I really don't know; I have seen "Daemon" Key and "Tux" Key mods. :)

You might want to make that post a bit more clear, as well.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Oh, thanks. I didn't knew. But, this is certainly not much visible on the website for on-line order. I rest my case.
Certainly I will like to use it for a future direct order. Perhaps my first T60, I was thinking about it for X-mas.
Oh the folly of hi-tech shopping, with an eye to global software freedom.
