what do you guys think of the price, and would the majority of you use this emory for the t60p ?

I see alot of posting of Kingston or cruicial, but never about the memory directly from lenovo, reasons why not?

The link doesn't work. Is it the 1GB PC2-5300 CL5 module with part number 40Y7734 for $109.17 (through usa.visa.com)? It's a very good price. If you don't mind getting a used one, IBM Used Equipment has the 40Y7738 for $101.15 (also through usa.visa.com).

Indeed a very good price since it comes with a three year warranty. The same memory is being sold in the marketplace for lower but with a shorter warranty.

Yeah thats the memory, I am just concerned about the compatibility

issues such as those I have seen in this forum, that is why I am askin

around first as to why no one has mentioned memory purchased from

lenovo.

this would be a christmas present for my self

I looked up 200784u on Lenovo.com and it specifically said the 40Y7734 (1GB module) is compatible. Make sure you buy it before Dec 20 to take advantage of the employee discount. BTW, I suspect people don't buy memory sticks from Lenovo because their prices are normally very high, so we get them elsewhere.

I have bought WAY too many Christmas presents for myself this year and need to stop! Just a few examples: a Dell 2407WFP 24" LCD monitor, an X60s, a violin, an LP turntable, LOTS of movie and TV DVDs, a 400GB external hard drive, a 4GB USB flash drive, etc. etc.

I am rethinking of buying the memory now, because their prices would come down in a couple of months , maybe in May or April right?

Doesany one know if there is a website that gives memory prices?

Memory stick prices will go down over time, but very slowly and you won't get Lenovo employee pricing after tomorrow. This is only the second time in almost two years Lenovo has offered all customers employee discounts.

An alternative is ordering from Newegg.com. Look for PC2-5300 CL5 notebook memory modules. You can compare prices of different brands on their web site.
