Most strange places I used it in:

- trams
- subways
- car
- bath (tray! tray!)
- can (yes the john/can/whatever... urgent matter on both accounts!)
- bus

More to come in the future as my tablet is on the way :D

Make sure you don't get electrocuted. :BAAAD!:
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

I rather doubt it since I'm no fool and I never plug it in when bathing... usually just take my ginberry bath crystals nice 90°F water and njoy myself whilst relaxing.

But I'll beware, I wouldn't want to end my life erly..!

btw: I'm fairly okay with 220V, the electro-cute meter stands at 23 times now  Renovation is not cool when other people turn on the juice!

Sorry, didn't see this post until now.

Serengeti wasn's super dusty -- far less so than my last trip to Utah, for example. I was there in November, during the "short rains", and I suspect the rain kept the dust down. Still, caution is the word, both for ThinkPads and for camera gear.

I don't have any pics of the X31 in the Serengeti (in retrospect, should have done that!) but if you want to see some Serengeti pics, PM me and I'll send you some ...

I took my work Thinkpad to a glacier on colse to Junfraujoch in Switzerland. We needed it to perform some tests with avalanche beacons. Even though it was summer, it was snowing and winding like hell and the Thinkpad was sitting in a tent the whole day powered by a 12V car battery.

As you can see to the left, I work in Solomon Islands (I'm in Canada at the moment, planning to head back early next year). I lived in a village on Guadalcanal for 4 years, learning the language, building a dictionary, analysing the grammar, etc. I work as a linguist and a reliable computer is vital (I'm not interested in losing data or being half a world away from 'tech support' with a dead machine). I burned up a Dell in one year (R.I.P.), but my ThinkPad is awesome! Undervolting and fan-control are invaluable! I powered it with solar panels and a 110V inverter. It has traveled (in a Pelican case) over the ocean in a 20' motorboat pounding over the waves many times. Humidity averages ~ 75%. Temperatures in the mid-30s C. Plenty of insect life (remember that ThinkPad 'virus' commercial? Turn on a computer after dark in a tropical location and see what happens  Bugs ARE attracted to light  ) All in all, quite extreme. And the ThinkPad has never flinched (unlike me . . . I flinch all the time).
