Well, with that going price, I'm guessing I could fetch at least nine grand for my 800mhz T21. I'm open to best offers!

Man, I have three 600Es with a full load of memory (544MB), minimum 6GB drives and I can even outfit them with CDRW/DVD combo drives! That's over $10K! Woo, I could almost retire at that rate!! :cool:

@AlphaKilo470:

You know, if you get 9 large for my old T21, I expect a small cut from that!

Would something simple like a paper cut do or would it need to be more specific and complex? Should I include an infection as well?

LMAO!

Okay, before you bring in Dr. Wolf and have him do some scalpel work on me, I better re-phrase my request...

I take it the T21 is still working out okay? You know my 30-day guarantee ran out about a week ago :) . If you are having any issues with it, let me know and I'll be happy to take it back and sell it on eBay for $9,000.00.

Which brings me back to the original post... The (fake) bidding didn't seem to follow the usual back-and-forth rising bids between two hijacked accounts. Instead, it almost looks like Bidder 6 wanted the 600E so much after the failed bid at $70, that he/she bid something outrageous (i.e., $4,000) with the 14-second snipe and was (surprised?) to find that someone had put in a $3,333 bid almost 10 minutes beforehand. Then again, maybe I'm reading too much into this and the eBay account hijackers are playing a different game nowdays.

It's incredible, if you go to the auctions details you can see that all the bidders were named bidder 1, bidder 2 and so on.

Why someone enjoy doing these things?

It's unfair. :x

bidder 1, bidder 2, etc. is what eBay does to "protect" people from unsolicited emails. Those are not usernames.

As Dan mentions above, eBay is attempting to prevent the harvesting of bidder IDs for possible nefarious purposes:

"As the internet evolves, eBay continues to strike a balance between preserving transparency and protecting our Community of members. eBay has decided to change how bid history information is displayed so bad guys cannot target bidders with fake offers using this information. In certain cases, some bidders will no longer be able to view Bidder User IDs on the Bid History page. Your User ID will be shown only to you and the seller of the item you're bidding on. Other members will see an anonymous name, such as Bidder 1, applied consistently to the Bid History page."

What eBay is attempting to do by hiding the actual IDs is to prevent fake "second-chance offers". Before this change you were able to see everyone's ID in the bidding process. At the end of the auction it was a simple matter to send out a fake offer to the second highest bidder. In the last year or so I've received about 4 or 5 such offers. Trying to string them along is fun :) .

What has changed now is that for auctions which either exceed a given value or are somehow else identified by eBay, all of the bidder's IDs are masked so that you see "Bidder 1", "Bidder 2", etc.

I actually used to solicit bidders when I was selling the same item, for much less, but never to scam them! :)
