Nice!, good initiative from lenovo.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

ryengineer - do you work for Lenovo?

I hate this and any other initiative which is labelled as 'US' only, it additionally annoyed me when I tried to "Learn More" and I was greeted with this:

System notice
Internet Explorer 6.0 or later is required.

Any tech company that thinks its OK to only support one browser has real problems imho.

Either way though, I don't think I could get too excited about a paid for service, I love live chat as an alternative for phoning or emailing but there is no way i'm going to pay for the privilege.

Lenovo does offer phone tech support. But it's more expensive than the chatting service.

Lenovo most likely requires IE because they may deem it necessary to run some remote diagnostic programs during the chat session, in which case it would be easier if both parties are the same browser.
