Why was there no T50 series?

I did a search and found no answer as to why Lenovo skipped the "50" designation and went straight to T60. Does anyone know? Just curious!

Lenovo probably believes that dual core was a big leap forward that is worth adding 20 to the lineup number

The obvious answer was to make the generation number consistent across all product lines.

Around 2003, we had the X31, R40, and T40. Somewhere along the line, it became X40, R50, and T40. Now it is X60, R60, and T60.

I agree it was to make the numbering consistant but the numbering is always a bit random - there was no T10 either.

I just want them to name the next major revision T1000

The T1000 is the villain! I want the next thinkpad to be T-100 (maybe with a small, tiny dash of highly polished chromium?). There is something good about the T100 name, it sounds "complete"

T100?? Yeah, it will/may appear after year 2010..
