Chance to run the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay in China

Lenovo is conducting a global search for torchbearer nominees. You could be one of them!

Do you consider yourself a ‘New Thinker’? One who approaches a situation with an innovative philosophy? One who finds creative solutions to bring about global change?
‘New Thinkers’ can be described as: motivating, provocative, imaginative, individualistic, explorative.
•Write a 50-word essay in English, explaining "What makes you a New Thinker for a New World?"
If you are selected as a top finalist, you will submit a 30-second video, showcasing how your torch relay participation idea demonstrates new thinking and upholds the Olympic ideals.
•Meet all the requirements of the Torchbearer Selection Criteria, adhere to the Torchbearer Code of Conduct and adhere to all Promotion Official Rules.
P.S. No prizes, selected countries and age restrictions apply.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

50 word essay seems like a bit of an oxymoron based on my high school and university writing tasks

18 Finalists have been chosen, now it's time for you to vote for 3 lucky torchbearers based on the videos they submitted.

Very short - I could write paragraphs longer than that. I guess that, like me, you think of the classic 5-paragraph form when you think of an "essay".

Still, there seem to be a lot of folks (barring those here and on a couple of other forums I frequent) who might have trouble with making even something that short look like it's in English...

Three Winners have been announced, no American in the list. The list will be shortened to 1. Olympic Games is a big event and of these torchbearers, one will get a chance to participate in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay.
