Well i am not a fan of System Update, Software Installer was far superior and every version of System Update (even back to when it was called Update Connector) has so many problems that it makes it an unusable solution.... that said.....i'm quite impressed that they have found a way to make it even worse with the new horrible lenovo graphics which do nothing but conflict with the think graphics and anything regarding the extras tab which doesn't involve its removal just makes me sad :(

It's awful alright. I've never had problems with Software Installer but this Edsel is absolutely DOA. Grrrr.

We're losing our soul (everything American) the more we embrace a global economy, starting with corporate suits selling out everything near and dear to us for a song. Lenovo ... built in gag reflex at this point.

And, if you click on the logo billboard you'll get Lenovo's latest special
offerings (if any).

At least that gives you get something to read, while System Update slowly
goes about its business of finding any updates for you. Entertainment !!!

rocky01 - unfortunately the important bits about System Update have mostly IBM to thank. It was the update to Update Connector which also never worked properly, Software Installer was created by another group within IBM who were only concerned with ThinkPads but ultimately politics resulted in the inferior System Update taking over.

The only things Lenovo are really to blame for is the shameless promotions which, while annoying, are not to blame for it not working properly.

I'd really like to create a program with the capabilities and simplicity of software installer again.....if only i had enough time
