By now, most of us agree that the X series is due for a refresh. In spite of this, Lenovo hasn't announced anything, unlike other companies.
Take Fujitsu, for example. Their new "LOOX R" ultraportable (12.1" 1280x800, LED backlit, 2.8lb, 9.5hour wonder) will likely use the new Intel Penryn 45nm CPU, and is slated for release in January.
Dell's new XT Tablet is certainly impressive in some respects (capacitive touch, SSD option, Thinkpad-esque design, LED backlit hi-res screen) but with a starting price of $2500, it's a joke more than anything.
Even Apple is likely to release a new ultraportable in January.
So what's the deal, Lenovo?

Apple and Dell are just entering the ultraportable tablet marketplace, lenovo has been already there in the industry of this product since IBM days, you can call it a matured competitor as compared to the others or the beginners (for this product) in other words. Also, most customers today already know what they can expect in terms of features from current thinkpad PC tablets however no one really knows about the general public reaction of these tablet PC's from other manufacturers and how consumers will take them in a long run.
Picasso said once, "Good artists copy, great artists steal", so before releasing a product, manufacturers study similar offerings from other companies and copy or find rooms for improvement in theirs and then introduce better features in their owns. Apple and Dell would've done the same, lenovo can do it afterwards too. Timing is very important in business.
So what's the deal with lenovo? perhaps it has already designed new fresh cycles of **-series but is merely waiting for the right time to expose it.
