Guess that they'll have to re-write the new California law that goes into effect this July about requiring "hands-free" cell phones while driving and include laptops :) .

Ray, if you get one of these stands, I bet you would be repairing your T23s while driving!

Ray is probably devising a way to get his sun visor to fold down as a magnifying glass!!

I don't know... The narrator guy give me the willies!

I think these mounts are what our local police force uses.

Hey, my eyes aren't that bad yet! :) As far as the police force is concerned, I've seen our local SJPD officers driving AND typing on their laptops at the same time  . With at least seven antennas sitting atop their Crown Vics, I wouldn't be surprised to find one talking to his dispatcher on the PTT mic, a cell phone cradled between the ear and shoulder, with one hand (?) on the wheel and the other typing away. All the while looking for traffic violations and keeping the car between the white lines. Talk about multitasking!

My Father has a laptop stand/mount like this in his work truck, but it's a rugged laptop that clips into place.

I think if I were younger (earlier in starting out my consultancy) I might have gotten such a stand. I use my laptop in my car; however, (1) not when I am driving {I pull off if need be} and (2) I am using public transit more and more. So the need isn't really there, but I still have my Sony Ericsson card for Internet anywhere my cell phone works. .... JDH

Vehicle Notebook Mount

#14 Post by Truthfinder » Mon Jan 28, 2008 12:40 am

I've had a lot of experience using these laptop / notebook mounts while assigned to radio car patrol on the Police Department. They are rock soild and yes, they are made to dampen shock, so you ThinkPad won't be expossed to vibration.

Great Product !

My 2 cents :D
