Warranty extension does not cover batteries? (T60)

#1 Post by gator » Mon Jan 21, 2008 11:27 am

I just learned from IBM support that the 1 year warranty extension I bought last august covers all ardware but not batteries. I initially had only a 1 year warranty, and I bought an extension after much thought. Now I need to shell out $$ for my battery that suddenly died ...

I thought that batteries were covered ... I have got battery replacements for the T41s I had sold here sometime back ... did this policy change recently?
Now: T60 2613-EKU | T23 2647-9NU | 600X 2645-9FU | HP 100LX
Past: X31 2673-Y13 | T41 2374-3HU | T22 2647-AEU

as far as i remmeber batteries only got 1 year while the rest of the system got 3yrs. You couldn't extend that 1yr. Batteries tend to die after 1 1/2yrs (we treat our batteries good so they last 2-3yrs) so Lenovo knowing that would have to constantly replace batteries.

batterys are normally only covered for 1 year "full stop". But, have a look at this post in the Lenovo Community Forum.
It may be that you still have a chance if you go through the link provided by Mark_Lenovo.
