What seems fair to you? SOLD?!: T41p 2374-GGU

#1 Post by nichevo » Thu Jan 24, 2008 2:56 am

I listed it on eBay as follows for $999. Can't believe it sold, I listed it as a joke (otherwise would have let y'all know first). Did I underprice? Are they desperate for Thinkpads in Canada? Who the hell needs it with all these pieces (who isn't one of us)?

BTW I upgraded it to a 2915 abg card, not in the listing. Should I pull it and reinstall the original, or ask her if she wants it, maybe trade it to keep an old dock or AC charger instead? (What from the T40s works with the T60s? The 2877 dock?)

If she creeps out, will advise anyone who is interested. I should say the address she gives is a bit queer. She says it's for her son.

Now I have to decide what to buy instead, after all I need something to get around in. A T23 would probably do, but OTOH I could afford a T61 it seems. Then I guess I could sell my desktop...the mind reels.

Have I done wrong?

Well, because the USD/CND exchange rate ratio is incrediblbe low, more or less zero.

Just kidding,

Your buyer is most definitely a hoax/scammer. You should probably list it and allow buyers with a minimum amount of feedback to bid/buy only.

Next time around when composing a listing, link "Buy It Now" with immediate payment through PayPal. And make sure that you limit bidders to the countries that you would actually ship to, if someone decided to really buy it.
