I bought a T41p from ebuy on eBay. :) It was "sealed" and came with a 90 day warranty. Well it turns out the WiFi card doesn't work well. I called IBM Global Financing, waited a few minutes for a human, and wow. What a pleasure.

We went over the problem. He said it's not very easy to change out the card. That's when I told him that I had swapped it with one in a T42 I have and the problem followed the card. He immediately understood that I knew what I was doing and scheduled a replacement WiFi card to be sent. Another minute to get shipping information and I was done.

Very nice transaction. So I guess I can say the included warranty on units from ebuy stores (eBay user ID ibmfactoryoutlet) really is from IBM and works just as a long-time ThinkPad user would expect.
