Laptop motherboard repair - who to go to?

Several online companies say that they will repair my X40 motherboard. Are any of them any good?

I second gator's recommendation. James has repaired the mobo on my main A31p several months ago, that I've sent to him expecting nothing. That machine has been on for 20 hours a day ever since...and I'm about to ship a couple of other machines with mobo issues to him this week.

I have done motherboard repair, replacing a tiny chip with tiny leads. Personally, you can't pay me enough to do it again, and I'm an electrical engineer.

You might be tempted to do it yourself, but I advise against it. I destroyed one motherboard, but repaired two. I hope not to do it again, but feel free to give it a try if you really want to.
