Any Lotus Organizer users/enthusiasts on the forum?

#1 Post by Franasia » Sun Nov 28, 2004 1:58 pm

Hi everyone,

There’s a new stand alone version of Lotus Organizer, release 6.1.
Tried to get it from IBM calling the number for Lotus Smart Suite/Lotus Notes and the woman knew nothing about it. E-mailed Lotus to check if I was entitled to a free copy and never got a response – it looks like big corporations need apply here only. This is the link:

Any clues on how to get a free copy will be appreciated.

Thanks Bill!

Shouldn't we be entitled to a free copy? It doesn't make sense to me.

Cheers

Hmmm.. interesting. I called and made my request and they sent them out to me no problem.

I think someone had posted a link on the T-series forum with the direct phone number, you might want to search for "Lotus Smartsuite" or something like that, in the T-forum and see if you can find it.

I did call them but the customer service woman who took my call was programmed to handle Lotus Smart Suite and Notes only.

Will try once more. Thanks!

k3vb0t:

Are you sure? If you're talking about Organizer that's part of Smartsuite - it's version 5.04! The new standlone version is 6.1 and they sell only.

Haven't had any luck talking to a Lotus sales rep - they put me on hold forever and sales of Organizer appear to be handled by a third party according to what the recording says: :(

Give it a shot.

I have been an Organizer user for years. I am a lawyer and it is my calendar program. 6.0 has some issues with XP SP2 apparently. One of my associates had trouble with 6.0 is when we found out about 6.1. I picked up a couple licenses at $41 each. The installation program looks a bit different than 6.0 did but the GUI is very very similar. Installation upgrades 6.0 automatically. My associate is now having no problems. I never did before or after the upgrade.
