I could not agree more. And while I must admit I was getting concerned about the potential directions that Lenovo could go, after receiving my new X300 I could not be happier.BillMorrow wrote:IMO thinkpads just keep getting better in terms of sophistication and quality..
the X300 is a super thinkpad..
i have one and its slick..
it IS a true daughter of the 570 and the butterfly..
reading the (gone for now) post of the upcoming thinkpad models i am pleased to see so much good innovation and forward thinking..
but..
for me, a wide screen is pretty much useless weight..
and the lack of an IPS (flexview) display is sad..
so i will stick to this T60p for as long as it lasts..
For me, a ThinkPad has been the cornerstone of my business and personal use for well over a decade and I must admit the thought of something dire happening was a bit scary. I passed on the entire 61 series, as I too have absolutely _no_ use for the widescreen format. I'm very grateful that, the little voice in my head said to me buy every model you like (in 2006) thus I have a T60, T60p, and X60s. Each a very fine example of the pinnacle, at that time, of ThinkPad models. After all it was that reserve of ThinkPads which provided me with the variety I seek and the peace of mind, knowing that I was good to go, for quite some time.
Going forward the future is very bright and I for one, could not be happier.
Cheers
