ThinkPad BD-ROM at a reasonable price?

#1 Post by ZaZ » Wed Jul 02, 2008 3:25 am

Anyone think Lenovo will come out the with a BD-ROM drive for ThinkPads? I'm quite content with the performance of my R60. It'd be a lot cheaper to buy a R61 with coupons and sell it after removing the drive than to buy one. I don't necessarily need to burn BD-Rs, I have a Blu-Ray burner on my desktop which I've mainly used for backups, but I wouldn't mind getting a BD-ROM at a reasonable price for movies and what not. Plus I think a BD-ROM would hopefully be a lot less expensive.

in fact, i hope lenovo can leave us a chance to have two hard drives instead of one hd and one _rom. i don't need a _rom at all.

and there is a blu-ray option already for the R6x series. I'm not sure about buying it as an extra part but it can be ordered with new machines.

You can buy a Blu-Ray burner for the R series, but it's very expensive. I was hoping for a BD-ROM, which I would think will be a lot less costly.
