Out of the US and battery failed...new one delivered nextday

#1 Post by Brad » Mon Jul 14, 2008 6:30 am

A relatives 5 month old X300's battery failed while in the UK. He called for service this morning and a new battery is being delivered tomorrow. Try doing that with a laptop you purchased from Best Buy.

sounds so nice! That's what they told me too with a replacement keyboard. "1 to 2 business days"

....

and now it's been exactly ONE week. No keyboard in sight.

I would call them back maybe they had an incorrect address. I have seen them send out replacement parts with no street address. Sometimes you can call DHL and if its early enough they can redirect the shipment.

yeah, that's what i was thinking. I'll call right when I get off work.

Suspicious thing was: The rep seemed to have rushed through the process or looking up the part number of the keyboard. Then he told me it will be there with in 1 to 2 days, but then he said: if I don't get in that time, call this number, press2 then say this code.- not so reassuring.

Actually if you do call that number they will be very helpful. You just need your case number and they can tell you the status.

Called and apparently the request got to the parts department and got canceled for a reason she did tell me. Anyway, she said she's overnighting a keyboard right away.

let's hope I get one!

I am 100% sure you will receive your keyboard. If you don't get it though by Wednesday I would follow up again.

Yeap. To my amazement, USPS knocked on my door at 6:30. wow. That's some fast delivery, but it only came from IBM warehouse in Carlise, PA which is only 2-3 hours away.

I think this keyboard is the NMB keyboard. It's crappy I think. There is no click or snappiness... bummer.

Yeah, it was weird. The slip titled UPS Sonic Air, but was delivered by USPS mail man. Even more weird- I live in area where there are no mailboxes, we all have PO BOXes at the post office down the block and we have to pick up all USPS mail there. So it's strange mail man actually came to my door!
