LCD Model # Utility
LCD Model # Utility
I am looking for a utility to display the internal LCD model # or product code for a Thinkpad T30. Any ideas?
pc wizard usually does the trick. otherwise a parts lookup works if you need the exact FRU number without tearing things apart.
ThinkStation P700 · C20 | ThinkPad P40 · 600
Maybe you can use this link:

Not a utility i guess, but should be able to identify the LCD.

Thanks for the replies. The problem with parts look-up on this machine is that it lists the LCD as the following;
11P8302 NOTAFRU 14.1 INCH LCD DISPLAY ASSEMBLY:FLAT PANE YES
11P8302 is listed everywhere I can find a reference for it as a "Cable Lcd Assy Tp-t30 14.1" Xga". That doesn't help identify the LCD. There are at least 4 different 1024x768 LCD's for these machines.

I did the " parts lookup " on the T-41 .
Looks like they get the FRU's from the model # and SN#.
The T-41 i have here has just a DVD-rom and have 1.5Gig of ram.
I ran the parts lookup and it said based on the SN# i have a cd-rw/dvd-rom and gave a FRU# for it.It's not whats in the system.
Also i have a ibm 512meg + ibm 1 gig stick of ram.It only showed up as 512meg.
Good program to see what your thinkpad came with when it left IBM as new.But if parts got changed along the way,it wont pick up on it.

Harry, maybe you can try Belarc Advisor:
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
I don't remember exactly if it gives out the model #, but it does list detailed info about hardware and software in your system ...

Thanks anyway. It's not as bad as it sounds. I am replacing the screen with an SXGA+ one, and I already know I need an SXGA cable, but I was hoping to avoid taking the machine apart to find out if I had a 150 or 200NIT inverter installed. The new LCD is 150NIT. Oh well, it's just a few screws and stickersgator wrote: Dang, sorry ... I am out of ideas apart from stripping the machine ...

Great tip. I just confirmed that my A31 does have a FlexView display. I always thought it did, but this first generation of FlexView isn't like the newer FlexViews, like the one on my T60. With that one, there is no question.erik wrote:pc wizard usually does the trick. ...snip...
