Extended Warnt

#1 Post by Truthfinder » Mon Dec 01, 2008 2:47 am

Good Evening Group:

My T60 3 Year Warn. expires in 8 months and I'm thinking of adding another year or two as I plan to keep this like new unit for a while yet. It's never been out of the house and has very light use. 9.5 out of a 10.

Would anyone have an idea as to the cost of extending the EasyServe for an additional year or two. A ballpark is all I'm looking for. Also, any coupons or discounts on this type of product?

Thank you one and all.......

steve

Steve:

You may extend the EZServ warranty for another two years for less than $150 - see the threads T42 and T43/ Extend warranty or not extend warranty and One year warranty on my T61 expires... how do i upgrade it pointing to T60p 5-Year Onsite Upgade Refused By Lenovo (especially see my post therein of Mon Mar 10, 2008).

Since your T60 came with a three-year base-warranty, the P/N to get (to extend it to five years) is 41C9180 - available from around $150 at e.g. Affinity Inc. - actually significantly cheaper there compared to buying it directly from Lenovo!

Can anyone confirm that AFINITY INC. sells the same coverage as Lenovo when it comes to the extended warn.? Who actually covers the unit, Afinity or Lenovo ?

Lenovo (more precisely IBM/Solectron) covers the machine. This is a nice deal, since the same thing from Lenovo directly is $199.

Can this be purchased at anytime before the expiration of my warn.? ie: Can I purchase it now or can I wait until my warn. is up in about 8 more months?

Thanks to everyone who has replied to my questions,

You can purchase it tomorrow if you feel like it, no need for waiting...

I would wait until a couple of weeks before the warranty is up. It might get stolen; you might bounce it down the stairs (assuming you don't have accident protection); any number of things might render it useless for you between now and then.
