terrible experience buying a thinkpad

#1 Post by joncnca » Tue Dec 02, 2008 8:47 pm

i don't know if you americans have this problem when you order from the US site, but i've been trying to order from the canadian site and 2/3 times, i've had my order cancelled due to an error in their system.

i think it's appalling that they can keep getting their prices wrong on the website, and then then cancel orders because of their mistakes, wasting us time, effort and money in the process.

it's no wonder lenovo profits are down so much. poor world economy nothing. it's due to their own lack of managerial competence and total disrespect for their customers.

am i the only one who thinks this?

Pricing and features have been a challange on the US site, but mainly immediately after a new product announcement. Errors seem to be corrected immediately. I just placed two orders within two weeks on the US site without any issues.

Nope! You're 2 for 3 - I'm 2 for 2 this year. The first time I managed to get the X61 machine despite their bungling, although it took Mark to straighten out the mangled warranty. The second time was a complete bust; after canceling the order (as far as I can tell, because their database misspelled my city name, causing a credit card validation failure) nothing I could do could get anyone interested in correcting the issue. I ended up getting the machine (my current T61) on eBay.

For my own company, we tech nerds always refer to the Sales Prevention Force; perhaps some of them were lain off and rehired by Lenovo.
