LED vs Flexview

#1 Post by mattbiernat » Sun Dec 14, 2008 6:09 pm

how is the LED quality compared to flexview? is there anyone who owned/owns both type of screens.
i need help on this because i am thinking about buying an x61 tablet because of the flexview screen. but i'd rather have something bigger in size for example 14.1 or 15 screen. i know that T400 and T500 offer LED but how does this compare with x61 tablet screen. also how is the x200 tablet screen (i know it is LED based as well).
any input would be greatly appreciated.

It does not compare well...

LED-lit LCDs are brighter, but the colours are atrocious. Judging based on X300 and T400, and have no reason to believe that any up-and-coming models will be any different.

X200T might be interesting (haven't seen it in person yet) because it does sport AFFS which is the same thing that was used on X61T and FlexView's nearest of kin...

You are comparing oranges and apples. LED is backlight type and Flexview was IPS panel type.

I have the T2010 which supposedly uses the same panel as the LED-backlit X200t. I also have a X61t SXGA+ screen and a X200s.
The screen on the T2010 is very bright (300nit) compared to the X61t SXGA+ screen. Colors and contrast are very similar. The X200s panel though, on the other hand, is very bad. The LED backlit doesn't saved it from being crappy. Supposedly the screen on the X200s is better than the X200 screen in every aspect (brightness, contrast, and resolution) so I would hate to think how crappier the X200 screen is.
