change of OS. will i get the same laptop back?

i ordered my laptop with 64bit operating system. the laptop came in with 32 bit operating system. lenovo wants me to return the laptop. am i going to receive the same laptop or a different one. this one is in a perfect shape, no dead pixels and everything working perfectly.

They want to change the COA...I'd guess a different laptop but am not sure. Why not call and ask them?

i did. took a while cause i kept on getting transferred between 3 departments... i am going to get a different laptop. would you guys exchange a perfectly good machine or would you keep this one?

I'd probably keep the good machine. The difference between 32 and 64bit Vista is negligible, to me anyway. Just my .02c

do you know if there ever is going to be an upgrade option from windows vista 32bit to vindows 7 64bit?

Can you keep the current laptop until the new one arrives? If so, you should be able to return the new one if there are dead pixels or anything. This is just my guess.

thanks guys. i've decided to stay with Vista 32. no need to return a perfecly good screen with no dead/stuck pixels and a thinkpad that is causing me no problems. and if in the future i will want to upgrade i will probably do so with Vista 7 and by that time I will be eligable for sweet EEP discount.
