Is there any way to tell how much tax (and shipping) will be when buying a thinkpad from Lenovo's site? I seem to remember being able to see the final price before committing to buy when I bought my sister's s10, but it would be extremely bad if I were to accidentally charge the account at the moment, so I don't want to chance it. I thought it would be maybe $50 at most but someone told me the price of one of the X61 tablets with the 50% off coupon was at least $100 more than the listed price! O_o
There's a coupon on the X61 Tablet and I'm wondering how close I'm getting.

Lenovo site tax
560, 560, 560, (all in various stages of completion/possession of a screen) 600E that's pretty dead, and a spiffy new X61 Tablet.
Re: Lenovo site tax
Shipping is free.
Tax will be exactly your state's/county's current tax rate (even if the checkout screen shows something else - they will adjust it later, when they send you the confirmation email.) They do not charge your credit card until the unit ships. Not sure whether they put a hold (and, if so, for what amount and for how long) on your credit card. For a limited time, get free standard shipping and handling for online purchases of all notebooks and personal computing accessories.

Shipping has been free for a long while now...
The hold is put on the entire amount, sometimes more than once.
Everything else was covered by basketb's post I believe.
