Speaking honestly, I wouldn´t like to see the IBM logo there either, just the model and the green LEDshausman wrote:I agree that the Lenovo logo looks like it was designed by amateurs and that it debases the elegant design of ThinkPads. The IBM logo OTOH has stood the test of time.

OK, I've removed the Intel sticker - came off even easier than the XP one.
Should have done this long ago - looks much better. Pity I cannot change my vote in the poll.

Instantly remove them - I don't do free advertising. Besides when they do wear out you're left with an off-color mark on the palmrest.

Yes, not advisable.yak wrote:Your only chance is probably to buy a no-logo T60 clear plate and make a T61 one from it by cutting the "T60" off and replacing it with "T61" from your current T61 clear plate. Not sure if you want it that much because even if it could be done, the place where both parts join would surely be visible.
A black sharpie or paint marker, maybe. However, if it's not an exact match, I'd be sorry I tried it.yak wrote:Good idea. Actually I just remembered that when doing a BT upgrade to my T60 and replacing the clear plate I got one that had a dot next to the Lenovo logo, in the same color, of a size of the hole in the letter "o". I scrapped it off which made the clear plate transparent in this spot. I wanted to paint it black with a waterproof marker but for lack of one at that moment I simply used a black pen (got some ink from the back of the pen cartridge using a tooth pick). Of course I painted the back of the clear plate. This did it, now I'm not even able to say where the dot exactly was.
I wonder how this would work for the whole logo.
I probably won't be trying this myself because as I said, I don't really mind having the logo there.
Yes, the "white" color of the led symbols and logo is misleading in that regard if you didn't realize that "clear plate" meant exactly that.
Hmm....having an led behind the model number.....maybe a red one, would be very cool.

Re: POLL: Do you keep or add stickers onto your Thinkpad?
I generaly keep them on, I only took the windows 98 sticker off my old laptop at christmas time. The windows xp logo wore out in a couple of weeks, and fell off by itself, and I did not get a centrino logo with my laptop. On my old laptop, there is one spot where the palmrest has the same texture as it had originally, the 98 sticker was well placed out of the way. On the thinkpad, the Xp sticker was pasted right in the middle of the palmrest, so after a couple of weeks I had worn it down to just a silver sticker and then it just fell off.

Re: POLL: Do you keep or add stickers onto your Thinkpad?
I leave all the stickers on. My T61p didn't come with the big fat ThinkVantage sticker on the lid, why? No idea but I'm glad it didn't, that sticker is doomed to be worn down within 2 weeks, when carrying the laptop around in a sleeve or bag, which would totally spoil the look. The Intel Centrino and Windows Vista stickers don't bother me at all, I'm proud of running both

I kept the Pentium II sticker on my laptop but got rid of the Win 95 sticker. Not only am I running 2000 Pro but the Win 95 sticker was paper and unsightly.

Re: POLL: Do you keep or add stickers onto your Thinkpad?
I took the Vista, Intel, and Wacom stickers off my tablet as soon as I got it. I figured if I didn't do it right away, the palm rest would discolor or wear unevenly and then I'd never have the option.
Turns out the palm rest can be scratched pretty easily.
