not an expert or anything, but I believe that the smallest thinkpads are 12" X series (not quite as small as your 240, which I think are 10"). The X200s has pretty snappy performance with a max of 1.8ghz core 2 duo low voltage (also incredible battery-life, I believe). the regular X200 won't be quite as small and light or long in battery life, but still quite acceptable, and probably faster, but I don't really know. those are probably your best chance at a fast/small/light thinkpad. I would love any of them, but I'm pretty content with my X31, as well (yummy 4:3 aspect ratio and 4.5h battery, but not super slow either)
Frankenpad X31.5 (X31 casing, X32 motherboard) 1.8ghz Pentium M processor, 1gb RAM,
60gb HDD dual booting Arch GNU/Linux && Windows XP

The "newest" Thinkpad with a 10.4" standard aspect (1024x768) screen is the S30 and S31, which are slightly easier to find than the 240Z. With 600MHz Pentium III and the RAM maxed out at 256MB, they are barely capable to running Windows XP Pro.
Microsoft Surface 3 (Atom x7-Z8700 / 4GB / 128GB / LTE)
Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF (Core i3-3220 / 8GB / 8TB); HP 8300 Elite minitower (Core i7-3770 / 16GB / 9.25TB)
Acer T272HUL; Crossover 404K; Dell 3008WFP, U2715H, U2711, P2416D; Monoprice 10734; QNIX QHD2410R; Seiki Pro SM40UNP

Closest in weight size (roughly) would be the recently discontinued X61s or the current X200s.
