FYI, I recenly picked up a Z61t with an internal Verizon WWAN adapter. When I went to activate it, I noticed the option of a Verizon DayPass for $9.99 per day (24 hours). The price isn't great, but it's a 50% reduction from the original price of $15 per day (which was outrageous, unless you really needed to get online!) I believe it includes unlimited data transfer for 24 hours. (Maybe it just changed because some Verizon online FAQ's still read $15 per day.)
Anyway, here are two info links;

--> http://wirelesssupport.verizon.com/faqs ... s.html?t=5
Or, you can just select the Get Access tab from the Verizon VZAcess Manager to sign up. The nice thing about it is that there aren't any initiation or termination fees involved.
New account owners are also given 7 days of free service (which is down from 30 days, I believe - I guess you have to give a little to get a little).

There is also a $100 rebate with 2-year activation if you buy a new Thinkpad with WWAN before 3/31/2009.

Wow, the cost is back up to $15 per day. Maybe they were testing out or preparing to lower the cost. Some Verizon FAQ's still refer to both $9.99 and $15, but when you go to purchase, it definitely states $15 (it did state $9.99 when I made the original post). Let's hope Verizon brings it down to $9.99 (or less!)
