Extend T60 Warn.
Good afternoon.
I'm looking to add two additional years to my T60 warn. Can anyone advise on where to go for this added coverage? I heard this would cost about $145.00 bucks.
Thanks, Steve

A bit more than $145, but you can do it at CostCentral.

Let me know if you have a positive experience with Affinity. When I tried contacting them, they didn't reply to my emails.

Re: Extend T60 Warn.
On the AFFINITYIQ website:
Our Price: $148.10
Retail Price: $199.00 You Save: $50.90
Estimated Final Cost Including Shipping & Handling (Domestic Shipping Only): $163.92 (in small print)
On the COSTCENTRAL website:
MSRP $199.00
Our Price $164.20
Not much price difference in the end.
Is there any difference in service quality, whether you buy your extension from one outfit or another?
BTW, looking on Lenovo's warranty extension page http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... d=TPAD-WSU
I see for my T60 (Type 2008), that it came with 3YR Onsite (correct), but that I can only extend for 1 year to 4YR Onsite.
What if I want 2 years extension Depot send-it-in if that were cheaper?
Where do I find that?

That's very interesting. It's like Lenovo does not offer 5-year warranty upgrades for model number 2008. Can't think why they wouldn't, but I've seen stranger things from them in the past.RealBlackStuff wrote:BTW, looking on Lenovo's warranty extension page http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... d=TPAD-WSU

Another interesting thing: For certain models (e.g. 2007), there are two different 3yr depot to 5yr depot upgrades: 41C9180 and 45K6025. The table shows no differences between them.
However, the 45K6025 is cheaper:
http://www.costcentral.com/proddetail/L ... 80/G10047/
http://www.costcentral.com/proddetail/L ... 25/BF2227/
I don't seem to recall it ever being offered before. Maybe it is something new. On CostCentral it shows as "Mail-in Service Agreement" whereas the 41C9180 only shows "Service Agreement". I wonder if there are any real differences.

Re: Extend T60 Warn.
My warranty runs out in September 2009, so I'm starting to look already for the best deal.
It's an awful mess, this warranty business, and no doubt people worldwide are utterly confused about how this is set up.
Anyway, my dinner is ready, got to go.

Call Lenovo directly and haggle with the rep...I've done it for my T60p less than a month ago...

How much $$$ do they charge at the end? Are they competitive with the resellers?ajkula66 wrote:Call Lenovo directly and haggle with the rep...I've done it for my T60p less than a month ago...

Re: Extend T60 Warn.
Doesn't get better than this. This was for the 2-year depot extension?
I should probably do the same.

Re: Extend T60 Warn.
I believe I have found an answer to my question, and it is in the latest Tabook and in Lenovo's Corporate Template.dr_st wrote:I don't seem to recall it ever being offered before. Apparently, at some recent point Lenovo decided that 45K6025 is what will be offered for T/R series, and 41C9180 is the equivalent for X/W series. Dunno why. According to the Warranty upgrade link above, you can still buy 41C9180 for T/R, but since it is a bit more expensive, there is hardly point to that.
