USB Keyboard with T400s design available to buy
USB Keyboard with T400s design available to buy
As per the Design Matters blog:
http://lenovoblogs.com/designmatters/?p=2364
Lenovo has just released a new USB keyboard with a TrackPoint. This seems to be a great keyboard, it uses the T400s keyboard design.
It is already available with the US layout from the Lenovo online store:

Since I'm from Germany I would be more interested in a German version. Any estimates when other layouts will be available?
Anyway, I post it mainly to let you know about it.

Re: USB Keyboard with T400s design available to buy
A really interesting product they've made there.. until i (by utter luck) received a Lenovo keyboard with trackpoint, touchpad and numpad - forgot what's it called. But i think that this newly released keyboard w/ultranav is at a much better price level, than the ones also including touchpad. If the keyboard quality is identical of course.
Anyways, maybe you can test how close to 7 days they really can deliver this in:

or keep an eye on http://www.heise.de/preisvergleich/eu/a455230.html

Re: USB Keyboard with T400s design available to buy
I decided not to buy it just yet.
What I would like to know first is how compatible it is with a T60. Are all the keys supported by T60 working (Fn- shortcuts)? What about the volume keys. I have an external keyboard with volume keys right now and the keys affect the Windows mixer volume, not the BIOS volume like the ThinkPad volume keys. I would like them to work exactly like the built-in ones.

Re: USB Keyboard with T400s design available to buy
i picked up two of the new keyboards, the feel of the keys is awesome, very similar to my T60. this is a big improvement over the old one. best part is there is no touch pad - yay!
i haven't loaded the included driver yet, but based on some of the comments on Lenovo Blog, i'm not sure it supports every Fn key on the T6x series. i'll repost once i get around to loading the driver.
