Warranty question on IBM certified used equipments!

#1 Post by renhui » Wed Dec 02, 2009 10:10 pm

Hi there, I recently bought a thinkpad off IBM Canada website which was listed as a certified used equipment with 3-month limited warranty.
However when I got the machine and checked the serial number on lenovo website, it has a much longer and better warranty.
Just curious if the warranty stays this way or IBM will change the warranty in a few days.
Thanks.

btw, I was under the impression that certified used = refurbished, but NO, the battery only holds 50% charge and there are scratches everywhere. But it does function well :)

Count on them changing the warranty sometime soon. If you're lucky they might just forget... :)

scratches are only present in "slightly blemished" machines. if you got a scratched machine I would return it to IBM certified and order a new one. you have 7 days to do so with no questions asked.
