Is anyone having "trouble" with Lenovo Outlet lately?

Hi everyone. I know it's typical for Lenovo Outlet to be less than responsive, but I placed a thousand dollar order over a week ago, and though they did send me an automated email confirming my interest in an order, I haven't heard from them since. I sent two short emails to the effect of, "Hi, Request status. Thank you", into the void. In my imagination, there's only two guys in Motley Crue t-shirts working in a garage down there in NC, or they're waiting for redistributed stock to arrive from overseas. And the entire site has been down for three days. Has anyone had similar recent experiences?

Yes...down for maintenance. :)

Who knows when it will come back up. This is not the first time for this to happen.

I ordered some misc. stuff from the outlet a while back when they had their big 20% off sale. From the board here, I knew to wait it out, likely w/no responses for a while.

I did just that, and -eventually- got an email about order being filled and an email when shipped.

Sit tight, wait it out...after all, there's only one part-time guy working the outlet... :D

billp, AMATX - Thanks for clarifying. Resetting expectations from Lenovo World Technology Enterprises to "Ted's Lenovo Outlet and Bait Shop". Must be lonely down there.

Fred - Thanks for that info - I will save it for future reference when I order again, but, want to laugh? My gf just called me from home - she was headed out the door and nearly fell over a giant box stamped "Lenovo". So, I placed the order on the evening of April 13, and Lenovo Outlet probably shipped no more than 3 or 4 days afterwards. I'll post unboxing pictures elsewhere later so noobs like me know what to expect. I'm rather intrigued by the entire Outlet process -- a certain sense of danger and mystique to it, like flying a spacecraft around the dark side of the moon.

In final follow-up, the unit ordered from Lenovo Outlet arrived in a little over a week. There was one notification email. I have yet to be billed. The notebook computer arrived new, as expected, but, oddly, there was another sealed box included in the larger box called "Ultrabase 200" :eek: and there was also a webcam, so I feel like I've hit the lottery. Lenovo installed software is also actually useful.

Just for the record: what TYPE exactly did you order and with what accessories?
You may have ordered an X200 incl. the base.
Or if you ordered one without, consider it a (big) bonus.

I think how it might work is that the order is for a certain "package", including the main computer. I'm thinking their website database only outputs on certain parameters, but not all parameters that exist, which means the customer is getting at least a certain amount of items, but it does not mean that all items in the package are listed, so the customer may be getting more than he or she was made aware of, and the order arrives with more than expected. Makes up for the order transaction method; all is forgiven from my end.
