I have a Thinkpad R61i and in the past haven't had a problem when making backup discs using the facility available. Because my backup to discs were a year old, I decided to create a new set. I first made sure my computer was completely up-to-date (updates, etc) and then deleted all previous backups. Then made a backup. I then chose backup to DVDs/CDs but after over an hour, nothing happened. I then Googled and tried inserting a CD for the first 'Start-up' disc, as opposed to a DVD, but it still wouldn't get going.
Thinking it was because I only had so far, one backup sitting there, I created another backup. At first, the HDD light was flashing away but this stopped after well over an hour. I waited for nearly 2 half hours but gave up in the end because it shouldn't take that long to make a set of recovery discs. And before anyone says, no, I wasn't sitting in front of my PC all that time, hahaha
Any ideas, please? Some while ago after having created my first recovery set, I tried to do another one after some months, but it wouldn't let me do a further lot and I received a message. But this time there was no message. I mean it goes throught the normal motions but then just sits there and the slider bar is left at 0%
Many thanks for looking
