Nice page on Thinkpad quality on El Reg...

#1 Post by sysiphus » Mon May 09, 2011 3:29 pm

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/04/26 ... page3.html

The Register has a list of five solid computers for under 100GBP, with #2 on the list being an X40. While I might quibble with their choice of a machine with the 1.8" hard drive constraint, they are spot-on in their praise for what makes a Thinkpad, well, a Thinkpad. I doubt you'll learn anything new, but it's a fun read. Also notably on the list is the last Apple G3 Powerbook--which (as they mention), was the last of the modular/really user-serviceable Apple laptops. Heck, I know somebody who still uses one on a daily basis!

Anyways, just thought the crowd here would enjoy....

Well, did you notice that such article was written in 2004? Doesn´t matter, to me Thinkpads are still the best qualified notebooks in the world!
