I want to buy a Thinkpad after selling my old chums Ham Radio

Hi,

I want to buy a Thinkpad with the money I got for selling my old chum's ham radio on eBay. He isn't with us anymore so I want to use the money well.

My current Thinkpad is a dual-core which can tell you how out of touch I am.

So, what would you recommend with a £500 budget?

• I will carry it a lot so don't want it to be heavy.
  I was just reading about noisy fan Nanos, which would annoy my brain.
  I love Linux so but this is not a deal breaker.

I'm in the US but the T14 gen 5, X1 carbon gen 10, or X13 gen 4 are right around 500 USD and aren't too heavy.

You could see if any of those models fall under your budget and have good linux compatibility.
